Addressed a very rare situation killah in which switching paths would not change the note layout. Text screen limits have been readjusted for German, killah Italian, and Japanese languages. The BACKSPACE key no longer cancels the Uplay login operation. The Uplay login dialog now supports ctrl+V paste commands for entering the activation key. It would be nice if they had a feature to teach you how to transpose songs to other parts of the fretboard. If all I ever do is play it exactly like the original recording (even if a ridiculously challenging goal in most cases), what real value is that? It's already been done. That's one reason I really don't care that much if I consistently get a 100% score, because it is frequently more fun to "make it your own". I kind of wish there was a "freestyle mode" in which you could improvise chords and solos, and still keep points if you remained in key. Something that disappoints me a little in RS is that you have to parrot the song as it is performed/transcribed. I frequently change suggested strings/fingering, espectially on bass. Perhaps, but I don't think that affects the note recognition if that's what you're concerned about. If extended range instruments continue to increase in popularity you might see support in a future version where they could include it in the design from the beginning. In fact they even worked in RS1 they just didn't use them as much.Īll of the above is just a long winded way of saying I highly doubt you'll see this as a patch. Alternate tunings work on 6/4 strings (so support all customers) and don't requrie most of the changes (read time and money) to the program that extended range support would. I think they are shooting more for a very wide general audience though and aim mostly at the beginner, novice, or casual player end of the range.

If this software was aimed at the hard core advanced metal/progressive guitarist then it might make sense. They have to weigh the time, money, and opportunity cost of developing that against what additional revenue it might bring.

Adding another string to all the displays, allowing options for string number, changing all the code, the file format, and arrangements to accomodate another string(s), and regression testing all of those changes,I would guess, would not be trivial.
